Food Technology for Companion Animals Scholarships

As a student in Food Technology for Companion Animals, you are eligible to receive scholarships from a variety of sources including:

Nestle Purina Petcare Scholarship
Through a generous relationship with Nestle Purina Petcare Inc., scholarships are available for students majoring in Food Technology for Companion Animals, Food Science and Technology, and Biological Systems Engineering (emphasis in food and bioproducts engineering option), with FTCA majors given first priority. Freshmen who apply can receive up to $1,500.00 for the first academic year, with the award amount based on high school academic performance. Upperclassmen with a minimum 3.0 GPA are also encouraged to apply. Awards for upperclassmen can increase up to $4,000.00 by the senior year.,

Eligibility requirements:

  • Must be admitted to or enrolled in the NEBRASKA Food Technology for Companion Animals program of study in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources
  • Must hold a GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident
  • Students may apply for and receive the scholarship more than one year

Other Scholarship Sources
FTCA students are eligible for more than $630,000 in scholarships from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR). New applicants are automatically considered for CASNR scholarships at the time of admission.

Each year the University of Nebraska-Lincoln awards millions of dollars in scholarships. New students applying for admission prior to January 15 are automatically considered for most scholarships. Some leadership and diversity scholarships require additional applications available online at http://admissions.unl.edu/cost.aspx#scholarships
Members of the University Honors Program are awarded a scholarship to help cover the cost of textbooks. This program requires a special application. Early notification applications are due November 1. The final application deadline is March 15th. Information about the Honors Program is available online at honors.unl.edu.
